I can imagine it but I dont think it will happen. Id be all over the first Halloween movie if it came with the TV version as well I just bought the Thing Blu and its already pretty good even though the DVD had more features. At least the Blu has the commentary, etc. Halloween 2 was released by Universal last year so I do also doubt it. You never know though. I can see Halloween 3 but Id pass on that. Actually come to think of it Halloween H20 could use a better release.

The AB Halloween blu still had the color timing issue, didn't it?

I guessing that most of the wish list titles people have mentioned in this thread are FAR too obscure. Judging by how some pretty high profile 80s horror titles have sold on Blu (Fright Night anyone?) I'm thinking these will probably be fairly "Big" titles.

I'm hoping for PRINCE OF DARKNESS from John Carpenter. That would be a cool "big" title.

Is Fright Night notorious for selling poorly? I wasn't aware.

It was limited to 3000 and not widely available, and sold out quickly.

Is there a date when SF are supposed to actually make the announcement of the titles?

Re: Fright Night: IIRC, it sold out in pre-orders, i.e. before it was even released. And it's already going for some crazy prices on EBay.

It sold out relatively quickly - a total of five weeks passed between pre-orders going up for sale and the title being announced as sold out.

Well, that's quick by any measure. I've never heard of a limited edition selling out that quickly, and if it was available not just through Screen Archives, it probably would have sold out in a couple of weeks.

Think they're going to start officially revealing titles later this month or early next month.

Although I disliked the sequel upon initial release & haven't seen it since, agree it deserves a nice widescreen release. Really should revisit, the original Fright Night is tops. One of my fave 80's horror films.

There are R2 releases of PoD with some nice extras... UK disc has commentary by Carpenter and Peter Jason, French disc has the same commentary, plus an interview and featurette with Carpenter.

I overlooked, how about In the Mouth of Madness - could that be one of the 8 ?
