Does anyone have Arrow's 'Lisa and the Devil' yet? Is the deleted scene/scenes in HD quality or are they SD upconverted to HD quality?

I received mine yesterday, Brian, and skimmed through it. I'm at work today so can't check, but from memory I'd say it's been upconverted.

mondo-digital.com has very good things to say about Arrow's Black Sunday. This may be the first Arrow disc I buy.

Indeed. Based on the Mondo Digital reviews of Black Sunday and Lisa it looks as though Arrow's editions may be definitive. Even if they had turned out to be dodgy in the video department it may still have been worth double-dipping for the Italian language tracks and AIP edits but it appears that they haven't fudged these up.

Definitely. I'm planning on watching both films today, and I've only skimmed through them so far, but I'm very happy with them. Those grabs on Mondo Digital comparing the Arrow and Kino BDs of BLACK SUNDAY are quite telling: I don't have the capacity to do a 'back to back' comparison of the two discs, but there does indeed seem to be better tonality in the presentation on the Arrow disc. I'm looking forward to seeing their BARON BLOOD and BLACK SABBATH releases.

I've been resistant to the idea of watching LISA in its Italian language version as it's been such a firm favourite of mine for about 25 years (since the BBC showed it late one Saturday evening) and I'm so familiar with the English dub that I can quote it word for word whilst I'm watching the picture - plus Savalas' voice is so distinctive. However, I think my first viewing of the film via this set will be of the Italian dub.

Thanks for this posting and the response to my question. I'd wondered about the deleted scene as I didn't know whether to bother with 'Lisa' as I already own the Kino BD and the Image DVD has the scene. I didn't realize the Arrow BD had the Italian language track...now I really do want it.

I hope Kino starts ramping up their game with the remaining titles. I'd hate to end up buying two copies of every title in this series (not every player in the house is region free!). I'm a transfer person and not so much an extras person, so I really don't care much about documentaries and interviews. However, as far as extras are concerned I really do like alternate audio tracks/dubs, deleted scenes, and promotional trailers. That's really about it, but for me those are important as they're either part of the filming process or used for promotion for the original theatrical release.

It's been reported at the LL&L forum that there's a trailer for BLOOD AND BLACK LACE on the Arrow BLACK SUNDAY BD.

i wish PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES was on somebody's radar; i've not even seen it, yet!

it could be hyped on the giant skeleton, the apparent true origin of ALIEN's "space jockey"/mechanic!

all that PROMETHEUS hype, & none for PLANET??

Matthew, PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES is very good. Track it down. The Italian DVD can be bought quite cheaply now: http://www.amazon.it/Terrore-Nello-S...0241273&sr=8-3

There's just under an hour of Bava trailers - one for each film he's credited as director.
