Attack Of The Crab Monsters/Not Of This Earth (NOT) Due In November Afterall!

All I know about this is from a very brief statement made on Digital Bits:
    __________________________________________________ ________

Our friends over at Shout! Factory tell us that the Corman title Attack of the Crab Monsters/Not of This Earth is due in early November. We expect more details soon.
    __________________________________________________ ________

Hey, Cliff, this is excellent news! What else can you tell us about it?

Well, Goddamn, I gotta go update my blog now!

No shit! Wow, well, that's what I call a bit of a major fuck-up. You should contact them before that gets all over the web. Now, I gotta go and update my blog again.

Attack Of The Crab Monsters is suppose to be released with another co-feature no? I'm sure Cliff mentioned it somewhere in the big Shout Factory Corman thread

BTW isn't it the one with Tracy Lords who is supposed to be release in november?

The original was supposed to be released with CRAB MONSTERS. Maybe, still will be. The '88 Traci Lords remake is coming out on it's own in November.

I couldnt care less about the Traci Lords version
I want the supreme version which is the Corman version. Now Cliff said if they cant locate a transfer for it, Attack of the Crab Monsters would get another dance partner. If thats the case I hope its a Black and white classic that would compliment the crabs

    Ok, announcement time...
Though there is no set release date yet, I am happy to announce that coming in early 2011 will be not a double feature, but a triple feature of early Corman classics and it will include ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS, NOT OF THIS EARTH and WAR OF THE SATELITTES plus some additional bonus content including a featurette we shot on Roger Corman with new inteviews from Joe Dante, Peter Fonda, Peter Bogdanovich and many more.
So, yes, I did find the dup negative for NOT OF THIS EARTH and we started the transfer last night. It look pretty darn great. Both NOTE and ATTACK will be anamorphic widescreen (1.78:1)
So, all can rejoice... it's coming... and it's even better than thought!!

Awesome fucking news, Cliff! And might I ask how did you come across the dupe negative of "Not of this Earth", that is if you can say?

Also, will "War of the Satelittes" be a new anamorphic transfer as well?

We are still doing some tests on WAR. I think if we matte the film, it will look very cramped. The other two have a lot of head and bottom room... WAR does not.

Hmmm...a suggestion, Cliff. Maybe "War of the Satellites" should be formatted to 1.66:1 instead of the usual 1.78:1 format? Also, if possible, you could check with Roger Corman himself to find out what the aspect ratio is...that is, if he still remembers.

Either way, good luck with this upcoming release and I'm sure it will be the BEST!

I'm just happy for ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS. Have never seen the other two; am kinda curious as to what the original NOT OF THIS EARTH looks like. Never saw the original. Looking forward to this release, Cliff.
