I can't recall; does audio even exist for the MPAA trims?

They'll probably use the artwork that came with the Infinifilm Edition.

I thought the uncut version was released on video overseas way back when?

Another thing this release needs- the original mono track offered as a viewing option and a corrected remix as I recall it being reported that the last New Line DVD version omitted a lot of sounds from the remixed soundtrack.

All units include Movie Money (value $7.50) to see the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, in theaters April 30.

The movie must really be a dud and they know it.

Not to my knowledge. But previous laserdisc (and I assume DVD) releases contained trimmed silent footage from I think two death scenes. I suspect the posters who are mentioning this would like to see it be re-edited back into the film, but considering the quality of the surviving footage, I'm not so sure I'd agree. Besides, the film isn't made any more effective with these extra frames IMO.

The UK video version distributed by CBS Fox contains an uncut version which has extended kill sequences most notably the murder of Tina at the beginning of the film. These scenes are all scored. All subsequent UK DVD releases have been the same as the New Line US R Rated version which excludes these scenes.

I am not sure if this longer version has been released elsewhere in the world

Yeah, the audio track on that release was totally botched, missing several vital sound effects. It makes it near unwatchable for someone like me who knows the film like the back of their hand. If they fix it for the Blu release, I'll pick it up.

Yeah, the German VHS got the shot of Tina landing on the bed into a pool of blood splashing everywhere, too.

But that's the only extra bit really. The rest is identical to the R-Rated version.

The Infinifilm edition not only omitted sound fx and score cues, they also boosted the contrast to such an extent that from the burning Freddy onwards a lot of details are absent from the whole scene and in the dream clinic sequences we also have different brightness/hues from the original DVD.
