Re: The uber official MONDO MACABRO thread

When comparing shots from the SNAKE SISTERS VCD to the same shots in the MM trailer reel all I can say is that "revelatory" is a term that seems inadequate to describe the improvements in PQ with the MM version. The trailer version also has a shot of Myra Manibog masturbating (?) which is definitely missing from the VCD.
Concerning a different distributor I can say that nothing has been officially announced however if you look under publisher in the following link you find the name Alternative Distribution Alliance. http://www.dvdaf.com/releases.html?w...Macabro*rgn_us

ADA is the new name for Ryko. The name change took place late last year.

Yeah, they have the same corporate ownership. And the same backward policies on "porn".

I think those shots from SNAKE SISTERS in the MM trailer reel were probably cherry picked for being in relatively watchable shape; we have been warned that the elements used were in terrible condition, so I am try to keep my expectations low. It would be nice if it got released soon, though, FFS.

No, they're going to cut that out.

There might be a version with h/c inserts. The version I've seen was softcore. There's definitely a hardcore version of PERVERSE COUNTESS, but it is not the original version and probably not the one MM will release.

Since I do not feel like joining another forum I would like to ask one this forums's Cinehounds if they could ask Mondo Pete if he found a distribution alternative to Ryko. I do not want you to mention SNAKE SISTERS since I know he is getting pretty sick of hearing about that one!

Re: The uber official MONDO MACABRO thread

I can't tell you how many times Jack or I have asked him about it. He gives the same answer every time, it's still coming and it's going to look like hell. He doesn't seem to want to elaborate beyond that. I'm sure they are still looking into an alternate means of distrubuting it. I wonder if they are going to go with a new distrubutor all together. It's probably totally unrelated but I think I've read that Synapse's deal with ADA is almost up and they are looking into new distrubution, perhaps it's the same with MM?
Jonathan, just join Cinehound! It's a great and very friendly place. Although if you're not a VHS collector (I'm not, at least not really) you're going to feel slightly out of place (I do, sometimes).

Thanks Jared. Yeah I scope out Cinehound a couple times a week but I am not so sure I could add much to the discussion other than badgering Mondo Pete to acquire the French version of SPERMULA. I have to be honest that until I visited Cinehound I had zero clue that hardcore VHS collectors existed. I mean c'mon everyone knows that laserdisc is the real deal!

    Jesus fucking Christ, Jared!!

Someone said you collected vhs and that's why I've been nice to you and all. Well you can forget about all that! I'm deleting you on Facebook!!!

I collect video and even I think it's become too much about tapes than about films. But what can you do. LOL.

Re: The uber official MONDO MACABRO thread

Jonathan: Please, by all measn join and bug Pete about SPERMULA. I'd love to see that as well. Although I'd be very surprised if they haven't looked into it already. I know they had EROTIC WITCHCRAFT all ready to go but were unable to get it out because of obscure legal mumbo-jumbo. I think you could add a lot Jonathan. You're input into the "Bold" thread for example would be very welcome.

Jack: Yeah, I've been spreading the rumor that I collect obscure European VHS just so that people will like me. Cat's out of the bag now and expect Miltos will be deleting me any minute now.
And seriously why would you go Blu-ray when you can see HALLOWEEN or EVIL DEAD on a barely watchable Yugoslavian Betamax?
