Should I upgrade, again?

Just bought a Sony blu-ray player and so far have CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE on Blu-ray. Just received THE LIVING DEAD AT THE MANCHESTER MORGUE and it looks fecking fabulous. So my question is should I upgrade my BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE and NEW YORK RIPPER dvd's to BLU-RAY? Read a review on DVDBEAVER for NYR but no review for TBWTCP. I have the blue underground 2 disc and I thought that was the dog's bollox..CHOICES, choices...

Re: Should I upgrade, again?

NY Ripper shows the most improvement due to the fact the old AB version is around 10 years old. Bird looks as good as possible. It is very grainy so don't expect a ton of detail - but this is an accurate representation.

It's a win-win situation but if you're looking for the biggest upgrade NYR is the easy answer.

Here is a link to a BWTCP review by the very reliable Michael Mackenzie.

Re: Should I upgrade, again?

It's a bit of a mugs-game getting these classic mod titles on Blu-Ray, because even though the image quality will make your eyes water, the sound is still one-speaker mono, essentially. I got Antonioni's RED DESERT and Godard's CONTEMPT, and whilst Bardot's ass never looked better, George's Delerue's elegiac score still sounds like mono tin-can, likewise for the audio on the RED DESERT.
