E. WALLACE SUBTITLES / DER WIXXER

Hi to all.
New here, from Greece.
Searching for english subtitles for the Edgar Wallace films that have been released in Germany I stumbled upon an older post, where user Magnus Wersen said that a friend of his was working on subtitles for DER FALSCHER VON LONDON. Are those subtitles available? Are there any more (I’m looking for DAS GEHEIMNIS DER GELBEN NARZISSEN and DIE TOTEN AUGEN VON LONDON). Any info is much appreciated - thanks.
Also, has anybody seen DER WIXXER which is supposed to be a parody/homage to the classic krimis? Any comments?

Re: E. WALLACE SUBTITLES / DER WIXXER

Fansubs have been created for a lot of the Rialto Edgar Wallace series entries that were released on DVD in Germany without English options. I think that's these :

Edgar Wallace Series

1961 Rialto Der grüne Bogenschütze (The Green Archer)
1961 Rialto Die toten Augen von London (The Dead Eyes of London)
1961 Rialto Der Fälscher von London (Forger of London)
1964 Rialto Das Verraetertor (Traitors Gate - German Version)
1965 Rialto Neues vom Hexer (Again the Ringer)
1966 Rialto Das Geheimnis der Weissen Nonne (The Trygon Factor - German version)
1967 Rialto Die Blaue Hand (The Bloody Dead)
1968 Rialto Im Banne des Umheimlichen (The Hand of Power)

I'm afraid Das Geheimnis der Gelben Narzissen hasn't been fansubbed yet. Neither have two of the three Italian co-productions released as Edgar Wallace entries in Germany [ Das Gesicht im Dunkeln (Double Face), Das Geheimnis Der Grunen Stecknadel (What Have They Done To Solange?) ].

None of the Bryan Edgar Wallace boxes had english options - the following have been fansubbed :

1963 CCC Der Fluch der gelben Schlange (The Yellow Snake)
1963 CCC Scotland Yard Jagt Dr. Mabuse (Scotland Yard Vs. Dr. Mabuse)
1963 CCC Der Wurger von schloss Blackmoor (The Strangler Of Blackmoor)
1964 CCC Das Ungeheuer von London-City (The monster of london city)
1964 CCC Das Siebente Opfer (Racetrack Murders)
1963 CCC Der Henker von London (The Mad Executioners)
1964 CCC Das Phantom von Soho (The Phantom of Soho)

That leaves Das Geheimnis der Schwarzen Koffer (Secret of the Black Trunk), together with CCC's Italian and Spanish co-productions released as Bryan Edgar Wallace films in Germany [ Jess Franco's Der Todesracher von Soho (The Corpse Packs his Bags) and Der Teufel kam aus Akasava (The Devil Came from Akasava), Das Geheimnis Des Gelben Grabes (The Etruscan Kills Again) and Dario Argento's Das Geheimnis der schwarzen Handschuhe (Bird with the Crystal Plumage) ].

Here is a link to a file of those subs listed above.

Wow! A million thanks! You made my day. I really can't get enough of these movies. I'll be ordering the first two Bryan E. Wallace box sets pretty soon. Good thing that I didn't go for the recent U.S. releases of those films.
And on behalf of the non German speaking fans, thanks to the people who put the effort and the time to make those subtitles.

Thanks for the list, I was hoping to be able to watch The Trygon Factor.

On a similar topic, do you know of any fansubs for the Karl May Westerns. I've got the three nice German boxsets, but there are 3 of the 9 films with no English and I'd love to watch them!

Fraid not, however that isn't a genre I watch out for so subs could well be out there.

Hi Alex,

DER WIXXER is a spoof of Edgar Wallace films and there even has been a sequel but I have to admit that I cannot really recommend those... many jokes focus on dialogue for which you have to be able to speak German to get the jokes...
