Re: Massacre Mafia Style Question

John,

Your response helps put this release in context, but doesn't wholly deal with the issue of your misleading statements regarding the print source. Having read your blog, and given your own experience as a filmmaker, I have no doubt that you know enough to know what us consumers should have been told. The timing of your information comes across as disingenuous at best.

I do appreciate the personal touches to this release ie the insert (which reminds me of my Italian grandparents) and the Easter eggs. I don't think the print is that bad looking (well, until Grindhouse released their screenshots, but that's beside the point considering their resources), and this release would have garnered a better reputation had people known what to expect: a somewhat mediocre print coupled with some lovingly-produced extras.

And, at $35, anyone who purchased this title has every right and reason to complain if they see fit.

Yes, but do it after The Beyond and Cannibal Holocaust.

Re: Massacre Mafia Style Question

It was pretty pricey but I've seen worse transfers. Of course it would be nice to see this movie in HD and someday we will (I hope) but hey, at least it's finally available on DVD...

Ian meant to say "but do it after The Beyond, Cannibal Holocaust and I Drink Your Blood."

Grindhouse Blu-Rays would be perfection. Even though they don't have many releases out there, Grindhouse is the only DVD company that I've bought every single release from and still plan to do so.

Dear Grindhouse,

Please no more DVDs. Per Ian Z's suggestion blu-rays would be perfection.
Thanks for listening.

Oh yeah, put GWTP out after two movies we've all seen a thousand times.

Re: Massacre Mafia Style Question

are they going to send the third disc to those who bought the Limited release? If so, I'm fine with that if they do.

Sure, absolutely. Somehow I don't see that happening tho but, hey, I've been wrong before.

Re: Massacre Mafia Style Question

What a crock of shit. Nice "fuck you" to the people who purchased early in order to secure a copy. And all because they can't sell the remainder of the 500 is my guess. In all likelihood, it's probably trimmed material that was redundant or not engaging enough. Kinda like the way Code Red released their Best Buy exclusive of Beyond the Door weeks after the initial release with a second disc, but all that was on it was a VHS sourced copy of the theatrical version and some interview outtakes.
