Haven't heard of this or the director, stars Jim Caviezel with John Hurt and Ron Perlman.
I really had a good time with this one.
Sapce guys crashes in viking times, brings monster with him.
Space guy looses zapper gun and gets captured by big vikings.
Monster attacks one viking village, and the two villages blame each other starting a war
Space guy has to unite the tribes to fight the monster.
On the way he woos the hot viking babe and does manly male bonding things with the tough vikings.
This looks fantastic and is just great hulking fun. Look for Ron Perlman as a real bad ass. Not to be taken seriously.
I think the babe is the girl from Braveheart.
"Those who are tardy do not get fruit cup."
It was an okay time waster. Kind of a cross between Beowulf and Predator.
The reviews made me believe this was a movie that was slept on when it got theatrically release, so i decided to give it a chance on DVD. Oh boy, i was pretty dissapointed when in watched it last night. While the crossover idea sounds great on paper i found the pace to be sluggish (first hour i was bored to tears) and the cinematography reminded of Daniel Pearl's TCM remake style.
I was hoping to see something like "Aliens" meet "13th Warrior" but all i got was a total cheesy and uninspired sci-fi flick. The creature looked pretty lame IMO and none of the cast mentioned to capture my attention. In the end i even fast forwarded through the oh so predictable finale. No thanx, this one is going straight onto ebay or anyone else who's interested.
