I'm a fan. I think he's really funny. He can be very dismissive of his cult film work but is a very entertaining interview. His audio commentary on the R1 CANNIBAL FEROX is hilarious.

I love him most when he goes completely over the top like FEROX and HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK.

Another good Radice performance is in CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE (which I love and think is far from the total camp-fest that many people characterize it as).

He only has a couple of scenes in THE OMEN remake but is the only watchable thing in it.

He's in The Omen remake? Damn, that means I have to watch it now!

I saw he was also in Gangs of New York!

I was surprised by his candour in the commentary when he described being near to a major drug route as a big reason for choosing to do Cannibal Ferox!

He always got excellent death scenes! Fulci's City Of The Living Dead, Cannibal Apocalypse etc.

Perhaps my favourite of the films he has been in is Stagefright - Aquarius, though he's not the best thing in it.

I didn't even know that he was in the remake of "THE OMEN" until the credits were rolling by.
Then I had to go back and find the scene that he was in!

Seeing him was pretty much the only thing I liked about this pointless effort.

I believe he played a priest in the film, I still have to see the remake. We were lucky to interview Giovanni a couple of years ago, super nice guy!

    'John Morghen' rules!

Yes, that audio comm on Cannibal Ferox is a hoot - the arguements over the animal snuff stuff with Lenzi is wonderful. A nice, down to earth chap. Without doubt had the best 'death' scenes of any actor I can think of in cinema history. I just wish he wasn't so embarassed by his horror and exploitation films.

I am a fan as well. I mostly remember the guy for being in a few of the nastiest, goriest death scenes in Italian horror history lol I was watching STAGEFRIGHT a couple of days ago and he was good in that too. His interviews are fun to read and yes that commentary is hilarious.

I liked his over the top performance in THE HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK. He hams it up in most films I have seen with him, which makes him watchable. He also appeared in Lamberto Bava's BODY PUZZLE. The film is dire but it was good to see Mr Radice again.

Thumbs up Re: Giovanni Lombardo Radice

Nice Thread, Im a fan of him as well. I have nothing really to contribute to this thread except that I enjoy his performances everytime I see him, My favorite probably being Cannibal Ferox and LHOEP.

Give me Fulci, Bava, and Argento over Antonioni, Fellini, Rossellini.

I love his coked-out rock 'n 'roll performance in FEROX, dude brings alot manic energy to that movie. I can barely take him in LAST HOUSE, in a good way, I can't look at him without wanting to crack up.

    GLR is awesome!
Wish he did the convention circuit here in the States, that would be very cool.

    Good interview, thanks for posting.

Kinda bummed to learn that he doesn't dig horror films or the genre work he's done, understandable I suppose if you're going to be a working actor. No one can account for taste.

That's funny because I saw his name come up as a new member a few days ago and just figured it was someone with an alias. Ask him to try again because Ian or Edwin may not have known it was really him.

I always thought he should make a movie with Anthony Wong. Perhaps EBOLA APOCALYPSE?

Definitely ask him to try again - Matt's right, I figured it was an alias and ditched the account. We would absolutely love to have him post here. If he wants me to setup an account he can email me personally at ian@dvdmaniacs.net.
