What did Penn say?
The best part of the Oscars was Sean Penn getting all shirty about Chris Rock's joke about Jude Law.
What a total twatwaffle. Almost as bad as his piss-poor Iraq joke at last year's show. Does he honestly think anyone gives a monkeys about his rantings? At least his fellow lefty loons Tim Robbins and Meathead have somewhat of a sense of humour.
No wonder Penn does his best work when acting as a retard.
Penn is cool. So what did he said?
Whatever your views, at least Penn has the courage to stand by his convictions and say what he believes in an industry full of people eager to please. So no, I don't think he's a "fucking moron".
"You rat up, you don't rat down." The Panic In Needle Park (1971)
Yeah, I think that Penn is one of those smartest guys in Hollywood. Inside, but still outside at the same time.
Don´t know what Penn said, but Rock's response: "Hey Sean, my accountants would like to speak with you".
fight the power. Sean kicks ass
Sean Penn is a legend but he says some bullshit every now again. He gives great intervierws, in one he said 'yeah I AM a Limousine-leftie.
All the films he directed are fantastic, and he's one of the more interesting and under-rated American director's working today.
Lith for nothing, or die fuh thomething!
Penn rocks! He says what is on his mind and I have no problem with that at all.
He looks like he's got the biggest ego I've ever seen.
Couldn't tell you everything he said last night, he mumbled parts and looked away from the mic.
After Rock joked about Jude Law (paraphrasing, "Who is Jude Law, and why is he in EVERY MOVIE MADE IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS???"), Penn came out and said something like "I have to apologize for my lack of humor, but when our host asked who Jude Law was, I'd like to answer: he's one of our finest actors." Then he segued into his presentation speech.Originally Posted by Jari K

I agree Aaron, e.g. "Indian Runner" is truly a masterpiece IMO. Great actor and great director.

Mr. Penn gets up there in front of millions of people watching and the best he can do is big-up Jude fucking Law? Calling him "one of our best"?
What a douche bag!
I thought Chris Rock was a bit mean-spirited with a handful of his comments last night, and Sean Penn's response was no big deal. Rock was actually a disappointment to me, as he wasn't consistently funny (occasional good jokes, but nothing really memorable...I did laugh at the Michael Moore/"Super Size Me" joke). I thought Rock would be able to bring an edginess as well as some laughs, but he didn't quite cut it. I'd give him a C+.
