Re: Shameless Screen Entertainment - new UK exploitation DVDs!
My copy of FOOTPRINTS has just shipped from Amazon, apparently. I can't wait to see Shameless' DVD, as I absolutely love the film. Has anyone received theirs yet?

Re: Shameless Screen Entertainment - new UK exploitation DVDs!
I have just watched The frightened woman DVD and it is great to re-watch this great picture on DVD. But I do have a problem with the transfer (and the same problem is on other Shameless DVDs). The image looks over processed. It looks great on close-ups and other stuff but when there are more fine detail the compression gets really ugly.
I hope Shameless can fix that for future releases. |

Actually, I have not such problems as Mattias describes above. Excellent remastering.

Got mine, and it looks pretty good. I like the film, but I continue to find it a bit off putting on the whole. I have to confess, I rather preferred the more conventional - and, I would argue - more beautiful looking Fifth Cord. But still, Footprints is a good film.

You need to look again. I'm not alone thinking this release could be much better: DVD Times "Unfortunately, despite the amount of work that has clearly gone into compiling this version, it pains me to say that the quality of the transfer is below average at best. There is a general lack of detail, with thick vertical halos suggesting overzealous filtering, while the jagged edges to diagonal lines that can be glimpsed throughout suggest a dodgy scaling job. It looks suspiciously like a good print has been spoiled by digital tomfoolery, which is a real shame, because, vast improvement though this is on the earlier US release by First Run Features, particularly in terms of its colour reproduction, it’s still anaemic and disappointing." |
