View Full Version : The Amicus Boxset

I have read all about the problems this boxset had when first released. I see there are a few online sites that still offer this boxset for sale. I am hoping that I may be lucky enough to receive this for Christmas.....my question is, if these are still the sets with the housing issues, can they still be replaced? I thought I read where replacement discs were offered and so I'm curious if these sets may be replacement sets or the original sets that may be loose.

I know that Anchor Bay UK were replacing all damaged disks. I did a quick search of their forum, but it looks like all traces of the posts that referred to this problem have been removed.
I'd mail Anchor Bay UK just to confirm what their current policy is.

Well, I got my copy about three months ago, and the discs were nearly impossible to get out of the box, because AB.UK corrected the mistake - Id say, order the damn thing and dont worry.

I say order. I live in Michigan and when I ordered from Xploited Cinema three of them were pretty banged up. The nice lady at AB UK mailed them to me free of charge and was very kind about it. She even joked with me through email. ;)
I say go for it.

Thanks for the info, folks. :) I have definitely added this to my Christmas 'wish list' and pray it's under the tree, this Christmas! :D

I really have wanted this since last year. While I own the R1 counterparts, the R2 discs seem to offer better bonus features, plus a couple aren't available on R1, so I must have this set...I must! ;)

Like Nick says, it's a great set. Troy did a pretty indepth review that can be found in the archives off the main page that I pretty much agree with word for word. The set does have a few flaws but overall it's very much worth owning.
