Where there any times, whether renting, buying, or seeing a film in the theaters, where you were going to see a film, but for some reason or another didn't, and saw something else, which you came to admire? An example of mine is eight years ago, I wanted to see Just Cause, which was playing at the local theater, but I missed the film, so I went to see Pulp Fiction instead, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Yeah, I think I went to see a movie with a friend, and it was sold out (Shrek opening night, maybe?) so we saw Dungeons and Dragons instead. Fuck.

Any other examples?

Yeah. Way back in 1980 I had busted up with my girlfriend and wanted to see a horror flick at the local theatre. The name escapes me. But I saw this cool poster (which I have albeit chewed up somewhat by the dog) for a movie called "Mad Max". So I opted for that instead and was delighted at the cinematic carnage. :D

When it comes to the theater, I usually see what I intend on seeing. If I'm going to be late I just don't go and if it's sold out I just grab tickets for the next showing. However, once I went to see some movie that I can't recall at the moment and wound up for one reason or another seeing DARK CITY instead. A definite good call, becuase I doubt I would've seen it otherwise.
That's the only example I can think of.
