Does anyone know how you would go about recording streaming internet video onto a DVD-R?

It's NOT for any nefarious purpose (given what streaming video usually looks like only an asshole would try to sell or even trade it with people). I've located some old TV stuff on-line and I'd like to make a permanent personal copy for myself in case somebody takes it down in the future.

You could, of course, shoot your computer screen with a camcorder, but that wouldn't be ideal. They also have PC/AV interface cables, but they're about $100 and besides it seems like I tried that once and the streaming video just came out as black screen.

Here's what I do:

1: Find the file on say, YouTube.

2: Copy the URL of the Video

3: Go to a website such as SaveTube or KeepVid

4: Paste the URL where the site tells you and hit "go"

5: Download the file to a folder on your hard drive, labeled "videos" or whatever, making sure to add the suffix .flv to the filename

6: Using a file converter like Super (free), convert the file to an mpg file

7: Burn that file to DVD

Keepvid will even let you download as MP4s now. It's a great site. I love it!
