It's an Alliance release, so you may want to wait until reviews pop up. Hopefully the PQ turns out good as I've wanted to upgrade my DVDs of 6 & 7 for quite awhile.

A bit more info for those who are interested. It appears, according to the back cover art, that these three movies are in their correct aspect ratio. 6 & 7 are 1080i while 8 is 1080P. All three movies are on the same disc. That being said, I took the plunge and ordered the disc. I will report back when I receive it.

Please do, I'm curious about this one myself.

Well I got the disc today! Talk about a surprise, I picked the cheapest shipping option and didn't expect the disc until next week and here it is now in my player. Major kudos to Amazon.ca!! Anyway, I have to head out to work here in a hour, so I just skipped around on all the movies to get a general idea of the quality. First off, grain is quite apparent in these movies. It's been awhile since I watched 6 & 7, but did watch 8 last year and that DVD did mask a lot of it. Of the three, I think 6 may have the best video quality. There were quite a bit of scenes that had the "HD" sharpness to it. I didn't catch many of those on the others, but to be fair, I was just chapter skipping. H20 appears to be the worst of the quality, probably could use a remaster job, but hey, it's miles better than the DVD that's for sure. The audio on these movies sound pretty damn good though. When I go through them all, I can give a better review, but these are first impressions. (FYI, my TV is a philips 42" 1080p and my blu is a Samsung hooked up via HDMI 1.3 cables) I definitely feel it was worth the money and to be quite honest, I doubt I'll upgrade to any new edition of H20 or Resurrection. Now Curse, I'll upgrade if they include a Producers Cut. ;)

Now here's to hoping they'll ever actually release the Producer's Cut of 6. The theatrical version of it is just absolutely horrible, and the Producer's Cut while no great work of art is at least a hell of a lot more interesting. I have little use for H20 and Resurrection, it was a pretty steady downward spiral once Dimension took over the wallet on these films.
Anyone know if Anchor Bay plans to release 4 and 5 on blu?

I've read on another forum that they are indeed working on blus for 4 & 5.

I've bought so many versions of these movies over the years that at this point the only way I'll bite again is if all the different studios get together and collaborate on an ultimate box set of ALL the films: the Extended version of the original, a Director's Cut of II, an SE of III, the Producer's Cut of 6 and anamorphic SE's of the rest and put everything in "Pumpkin" packaging

The theatrical version of 2 is the director's cut, the alternate footage out there is just different takes for a TV version. When watching the "TV Safe" scenes it's readily apparent they're not taking those takes seriously at all. They'd be a good bonus feature.
