Ummm very moving, If you are a dog lover, highly reccommended. I'm going to check out Reikert's previous film from 2006 OLD JOY. FYI, the dog is in that film as well, Lucy is the director's dog.
Any opinions from those that have seen either?

I've seen both and fucking loved both of them..OLD JOY was aterrific, earthy kinda film, but WENDY AND LUCY really haunted me more than any film this year so far.
It's kinda like an intellectual armageddon type film, despite it being rather 'gentle'. Not much happens, it's just on of those films where you have to sit through to really get, it's so understated you almost forget what it's hitting you with. Really sad ending, and Will Oldham's cameo is fantastic. I reckon THE ROAD adaptation will be pushed to top this little baby.

Kinda interested in seeing Wendy and Lucy, probably will soon since NetFlix has it up on Watch Instantly now.

Missed Wendy and Lucy when it played the local arthouse but I'll be sure to get it for rent asap as it sounds great. I love me some American neo-realism. Ballast is another great example that I saw recently and loved.

Just got back from seeing this at the college theater tonight, and felt it was kinda ho-hum in the end.
I was with it for the most part, but when it ended, my first thought was "Well, that was kinda pointless..."
I guess I wanted a little more to happen in it, or I went it hoping for something a little more soul-crushing than it was.
I wouldn't call it bad, just kinda....there.

I really liked it too, though it was incredibly sad. Definitely "American Neorealism," as RT put it. I guess I like it in the same way I like "Bicycle Thieves," etc. - intellectually, though emotionally it's far from enjoyable in the strictest sense. Still, and excellent film; very impressive.
