I thought there was a thread on this but I can not find it (if it existed). I'd like to read some stuff on the trash cinema but am having trouble finding stuff in the library system in Maine. Can we get a list going of some good ones?

Great recommendations all around. These are some others that have been enjoyable and/or helpful to me.

Re/Search #10: Incredibly Strange Films - Edited by V. Vale, A. Juno, J. Morton & B. Rice

Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film - M. Weldon

A Taste of Blood: The Films of Herschell Gordon Lewis - C. Curry

Fragments of Fear: An Illustrated History of British Horror Films - A. Boot

Film as a Subversive Art - A. Vogel & S. MacDonald

Eyeball: Compendium 1989-2003 - S. E. Thrower

The new BFI screen guide, 100 European Horror Films is kinda neat too.

The following books by Danny Peary are classics: Cult Movies Vol 1 - 3 (circa early '80s) and Cult Movie Stars (1991).
Another classic is ReSearch's Incredibly Strange Films(1986).

There are some good ones from Creation Books also. Killing for Culture, which is about cannibal and "snuff" films, and the one about erotic Japanese movies (can't recall the name offhand).

Great topic - I collect cult movie books and recognize most of the titles mentioned so far.

Danny Peary's CULT MOVIES books are great, my favorite is #2, and I also recommend his GUIDE FOR THE FILM FANATIC.

In addition to the EYEBALL compendium, I also recommend getting the FLESH AND BLOOD magazine compendium, also from FAB Press (obviously).

Talking about FAB Press, I highly recommend TEN YEARS OF TERROR: BRITISH HORROR FILMS OF THE 1970s.

Pete Tombs' MONDO MACABRO - WEIRD AND WONDERFUL CINEMA AROUND THE WORLD is ace, too! Look for the Spanish-language edition with full-color illustrations throughout and a new section on Pakistani films.
