Happened upon vol. 1 of "Something Weird Video's Starman DVDs at BestBuy and am curious how these are. Have never seen a Starman episode, but have both heard they are wild & fun, and silly & boring.

Opinions and comments?

There's a decent review of it up at the DVD Drive in site and a few others on the web. I've never seen them either but admit I'm curious.

I have both DVDs, and I love em... they are actually all four of those descriptions: wild, fun, silly & maybe boring to some... but like I said, I love em.

if you want to see a pretty funny MST3K:

MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000
PRINCE OF SPACE [EPISODE#816]

"PRINCE OF SPACE" is from the "STARMAN VOL.2" DVD that was put out by SWV. (although it's called "INVADERS FROM SPACE" on the SWV disc)

Wild and fun and silly and boring sums these films up pretty well. I've had both discs for months but I've yet to make it all the way through either one. Still, I wouldn't part with them--can you be nostalgiac for films you didn't grow up with? Had I seen these as a kid, I would've loved them. As an adult, they're just not as engrossing as I'd hope they'd be. A lukewarm recommendation.
