I read on Fango's sight that Image has Island Of Death scheduled to come out on DVD in early 2003.
Does anybody know if this is Nico Mastorakis Greek film about the man on woman killing people they consider to be deviants(which is already available on a nice import disc, for those who are PAL capable)?
Or is it just another flick sharing the same title?

I found Island of Death (aka Island of Perversion) to be one of the worst films I have ever seen. Boring scenes of "shocking" scenarios just for the sake of (poorly done) mayhem. Don't get me wrong; I love violence and perversion just as much as the next guy, but I think that it should merit some sort of intelligence for it to be appreciated. Otherwise, I could just watch Jerry Springer or the news and call it "shock art".
A much better Greek film of perversion and psychosis that should recieve a release in the near future from Synapse is Singapore Sling. This film comes highly recommended, unlike the previous.

ISLAND OF DEATH is a crummy film, but as the director said, he wasn't looking to make art, but something that would shock audiences so much that he could make money from it. I find that the film is so disgusting and offensive that it's perfect fare for an evening spent with a few buddies and a few beers. But if you plan to take this movie seriously, skip it.

But is it the Nico Mastorakis movie that is also known as ISLAND OF PERVERSION (and if thi sis and Image release will it be uncut, I kinda doubt it after the cutting of FEMALE VAMPIRE) or is it the Spanish move that is also known as WHO WOULD KILL A CHILD?

For some reason i'm thinking it's neither the Greek nor the Spanish. I seem to remember hearing something about another movie with the same title.

There's a 1967 film that, as one of its monikers, goes by Island of Death. Some of its other titles are Man Eater of Hydra and Island of the Dead. It's directed by Mel Welles and stars Cameron Mitchell. Image could be releasing this film, I suppose.
