What a pleasant surprise. Evil Ian has dropped in. Lets keep him around. Start asking questions everybody.

Here's mine:

Favorite beer?

Ian Miller
01-21-2007, 01:08 AM
Hmmmmmmmmmm,

I just love Little King cream ale, I wish I could get 'em here in PDX.

Wargsteiner is excellent also.

Horace, I thought you were the scarce one!

I had to get a new modem. Now I have one and happy days are here again.

This thread is making me thirsty. Time to hit the fridge.

Me too, but it will be the stand-by:

Pabst!

A party at Ian Jane's can yield unexpected results, I showed up with a 12-pack, and came home with a 24! It's true.

Stop it Miller, or I'm getting on a bus and showing up at Herr Jane's doorstep asking for booze.

He will NOT be pleased.

Nope. Years and years of work.

Extra gross and extra fabulous - that one was my pick of the evening and I wasn't disappointed. I went to the symphony the next night to purge myself or "to make myself clean."

Why can't we see Amy Yip's superboobs in Robotrix? She keeps hiding them.

Mama told me to never answer a question with another question, but.........did you drink those 40 left-over beers?

Why can't we see Amy Yip's superboobs in Robotrix? She keeps hiding them.

I don't know, but that would drive me crazy! She shows 'em in SEX AND ZEN, right? We need to see Yip's nips!*

Gah! Do sets count? If so,

1.) That recent Merle Haggard box

2.) The Johnny "Guitar" Watson disc I bought at 1/2 Price books

3.) The Rhino Buck Owens set

4.) The Jimi Hendrix Experience AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE

5.) The Doug Sahm box

i.e. Bob Guccione!

No no no no, I can turn water into grain alcohol.

Big difference.

Why I should give a flying canoodle about Doug Sahm?

Ian Miller
01-21-2007, 08:50 PM
Oh, well, because he had a great voice, was a killer multi-instrumentalist and an all-around cool cat.

However, the breaking point for you may be the Tex-Mex quality of his sound, and I know all about you and Tejano/Polka, so maybe you shouldn't care, but check out MENDOCINO and tell me what you think.

Damian P

His vocals on Texas Me are killer. If it was acoustic, I'd probably love it, but the organ grinds my balls.

I didn't drink the forty left over beers, but I did have four or five of them.

Also, can I borrow that Buck Ownes boxed set? I didn't know you had it.

Well, that's a problem as the organ's a key element to his sound.

However, Netflix CISCO PIKE for a great appearance. Hell, watch MORE AMERICAN GRAFFITTI as well, if you can stand to. Little Doug was just a bad-ass, in my book.

Funnily enough, excepting Buck (who wasn't super tall), all five on my list are little guys. Weng Weng!

I don't have it, but I'd take it to a desert island anyway. Have you ever heard MONSTER'S HOLIDAY? It sounds like SAM'S PLACE, but it's all about.........monsters.

When you feel up to it and have some $$, I'll show you what Buck cd's you should get first, like all of the live ones. Same for Merle, really.

I can totally understand, Augie Meyers on the Vox Continental evokes the fairground, it's true. Does the organ on Elvis Costello and the Attractions records have the same effect? Or MICKEY?

Ian Jane
01-21-2007, 09:27 PM
I've got most of the Merle I need, I think. Or at least a fair chunk of it. Buck, I've only got three or four of the studio albums, none of the live material.

Here's a question for you.... 3-Dev-Adam: what's with Spider-Man and the statues?

Ian Miller

Maybe he's trinket happy. More baffling, what's with the multiples? "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!"

I'm not that into that Elvis, but I recall his organ feeling more West Indies than County Fair.

Here's a batch of questions I like to call "SEQUELITIS ANALYSIS" -

What's your favorite PLANET OF THE APES sequel and why?

What's your favorite NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET sequel and why?

What's your favorite SHAFT sequel (and/or t.v. movie) and why?

What's your favorite POLICE ACADEMY sequel and why?

What's your favorite FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel and why?

Ian Miller

What's your favorite PLANET OF THE APES sequel and why?

Maybe CONQUEST. ESCAPE is better, probably, but it's hard to argue with a bunch of chimps with butcher knives, and the reference to then-current political strife and unrest is delicious to me.

What's your favorite NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET sequel and why?

gah, I'm terrible with this series, but probably the one with the pizza and Linnea Quigley's breasts. Why? For obvious reasons!

What's your favorite SHAFT sequel (and/or t.v. movie) and why?

BIG SCORE, because I like the poster.

What's your favorite POLICE ACADEMY sequel and why?

I honestly couldn't answer that, having never seen more than the first, but I can say that my mom's ex-boyfriend was friends with the female body-builer cop whose name escapes me.

What's your favorite FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel and why?

Part 4 because of Crispin Glover's death scene and Corey Feldman going berserk at the end.

Don Guarisco
01-21-2007, 11:20 PM
Nice answers. CONQUEST is my fave POTA film - it's like THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS for sci-fi nerds. And Leslie Easterbrook is the lady you're thinking of. On the POLICE ACADEMY tip, I used to work out at a 24 Hour Fitness near Santa Monica and every now and then I'd see the guy who plays Proctor (G.W. Bailey's bumbling assistant) pumping iron there.

And Crispin rukes in F13 pt 4.

I don't know, but that would drive me crazy! She shows 'em in SEX AND ZEN, right?

Sorry to disappoint both of you lads, but those were all body doubles in Sex & Zen (as you'll notice that Amy and her [stunt]boobs are never seen in the same shot); there was word that Ms Yip revealed all once, against her wishes and long-held contract, but this seems to be more of an urban myth than anything else. I think whoever started that one (Thomas Weissner? Ric Meyers?) confused Amy Yip with Veronica Yip, who did bare all for the cameras. :p

It would be Lone Wolf McQuade, drunk or not. Walker would be out of his element in a helicopter, McQuade, not so much. Now if it were the back of a moving pick up truck, that'd be a different story, but McQuade more or less gets home team advantage here. Plus he's younger and meaner. Walker's a much nicer guy who is kind to children. McQuade will mess you up without a second thought.

GT or LX?

SG or Les Paul?

Tits or Ass?

And finally, why do they call you evil, or shouldn't I ask?

Though the notion of fucking Ginger back down to Earth is an appealing one (to paraphrase Lugosi she will have "oooh"'ed her last "oooh"), at the end of the day it has to be Mary Anne, sexy without trying too hard.

What, no Telecaster? Well, if I had a choice, Les Paul.

Oof, don't make me choose, tits attract me, but the ass does something.

No, they're supposed to last forever, right? I seem to remeber that they're spendy as well.

I don't like them on electrics, but I tend to go long stretches without changing acoustic strings. I've had the same set on my Taylor for a couple of years now, and they still sound and feel great. Def worth the $ for me.
