66 years young today, with a new movie opening Friday (THE BLACK DAHLIA), two controversial ones coming out soon in DVD special editions (BODY DOUBLE and SCARFACE), and a long-lost one getting its first ever home format release in two weeks (MURDER A LA MOD).

"'Paramilitary Activities in Urban Areas.' Because all organized revolutionary movements have been thoroughly infiltrated by government agents, the successful acts of sabotage will be carried out by single individuals. A lone saboteur must first assimilate himself into the urban community, assuming a lifestyle indistinguishable from the bourgeois members around him."

-- Robert De Niro reading from The Urban Guerrilla in HI, MOM!

I used to despise DePalma's work, but I've grown to like it over the past few years. He's erratic, but his best stuff is wonderful. Can't wait to see Black Dahlia, but in the meantime - the inevitable DePalma top ten:

1. Phantom of the Paradise
2. The Untouchables
3. Scarface
4. Body Double
5. Carlito's Way
6. Carrie
7. Femme Fatale
8. Sisters
9. Dressed to Kill
10. Obsession
