Hey guys, I'm new here. Has anyone seen Rollin's Lost In New York? I know absolutley nothing about it, just wondering if it's any good or not. I heard it's suspose to be coming out soon along with The Nude Vampire. I just got my first 2 Jean Rollin movies about a week ago, Fascination and Requiem For A Vampire and I've got Shiver Of The Vampires on order. I'm just itching to see more of this guys work. I was VERY impressed with Fascination. Great movie.

So far I have every Jean Rollin film on DVD in the US, and I have found a reason to enjoy every one of them (some more than others of course). I still havn't seen Lost In New York, but from what I've read its supposed to be pretty trippy. Not really a horror film, but more a bizare fantasy/adventure based on a book by Rollin. The Image DVD has been talked about for ever, but as far as I know, they still have not announced a firm date for it yet. They also have the rights to The Nude Vampire, and The Iron Rose, both of which we'll hopefully see early next year (but I doubt it).
Also, if you're getting into Rollin, Synapse's DVD of Bachaus Sexualis (Fly Me the French Way) is coming out next month, and it sounds like a weird one. I personally can't wait.

I've been waiting on The Nude Vampire for many months, now. As for The Iron Rose,it'll probably be many months more, for that one.
Has anyone here seen Rollin's The Runaways? Is this one of his pornos?

I too just saw my first Rollin flick, THE LIVING DEAD GIRL, and loved it. GRAPES OF DEATH will hopefully ship out sometime if DVD Empire ever gets my money order.

LOST IN NEW YORK is not one of my favorite Rollin films, but I echo the sentiment that there is ususally something to enjoy in each of his films. I have seen a black & white, untranslated print of the RUNAWAYS and it is a pretty minor entry. And it's not a porno--there's scarcely any nudity.

Salvation/Redemption have announced Lost in New York for a July R2 UK release (Amazon.co.uk have it as July 16th (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lost-In-New-York/dp/B000P0JOVQ/ref=sr_1_4/202-8673666-6401416?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1181134133&sr=1-4)). According to Salvation's website (http://salvation-films.com/WebForms/Help/News.aspx) the disc will also include Rollin's short films The Far Country (Le Pays Loin - 1965) and The Yellow Lovers (Les Amours Jaunes - 1958) although these have previously been released in the Encore editions of Les Démoniaques and Levres de Sang respectively.
This has been announced as a future release more than once before and given this is Salvation we're talking about the disc may or may not be available on July 16th. However they seem to be going through one of their periodic bouts of releasing stuff at the moment, and it's been put through the BBFC, so fingers crossed.
