Just wanted to let the monster movie fans with cable out there know that a friend of mine, Tim Cox, just directed a fun monster mash for Sci-Fi Channel called LARVA. It's going to debut Saturday night (the 22nd) on Sci-Fi at 9 pm. If you want to know more about the flick, you can check out its page at the Sci-Fi site (http://www.scifi.com/larva/). I also did a little write up on the film here: http://madeoutofmouth.blogspot.com/2005/01/larva.html
Gratuitous plug completed - thank you for your patience. Back to your regularly scheduled forum...

I was just wondering if this was the same LARVA that was shot in Springfield, Mo... Apparently, many, many locals were ripped off when they were "hired" by the producers, then went unpaid. Ah well, I'll check it out this Saturday.

What's the beef? (Pun intended, read the rest with humor in mind)
I'm sure it was the same film. How many films called LARVA get shot in Springfield, MO, anyway?
They got to be in Sci-Fi Channel original movie! Isn't that payment enough. What the hell do the people of Springfield want? You know, the folks over in Jefferson didn't get asked to be in no movie. They should feel honored!

I live in Springfield and know some of the people who were involved. Some say they got paid, some say they were ripped off. I could have been an extra, but didn't have time while they were shooting. I think I'm glad because with my luck I would've been screwed too.
Ryan, I'm sure many of these local people were indeed excited about being in a "real" movie for once, but when they were told by the producers that they'd get compensated for their time and efforts, they believed it and expected it.. So naturally, some of them got upset when it became clear that they were lied to...
